Some Relaxing Music

Here is a particularly hypnotic and trance inducing take on Star of the County Down, which is one of my favorite Irish tunes. I’ve mostly done this one in waltz time or 3/4, but this one is in 4/4 with more of a “two” feel:    


Light Into Darkness – February 11, 2018

I had the extreme pleasure of playing with the Cleveland Chinese Music Ensemble on February 11 at the Hudson Public Library (near Cleveland, Ohio). Here is my solo on “Light Into Darkness” — a tune I’ve been tweaking for over a decade now. Tapping At the Edge…..

This one actually does not have a whole lot of two-handed tapping that you can hear readily – or up-front in the mix – but, the whole feel of the rhythm comes from playing along with some backing tracks I made from hammering and pulling techniques on the electric dulcimer. As I do often these days, I simply ghosted these tracks out in the final mix.
